Lauren is a fourth year doctoral candidate in the Zimmerman Lab and the Yale Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering. She is from Montclair, New Jersey and completed her bachelor’s degree with a double major in chemistry and geology at Middlebury College. She was also a two-time NCAA DIII National Finalist in the javelin. Following graduation, she spent a year as a researcher with Dartmouth’s Toxic Metals Superfund Research Program.

Lauren’s research interests broadly focus on the behavior of chemical pollutants. Currently, Lauren is developing sustainable, selective, and multifunctional nano-enabled biomaterials for the adsorption of inorganic contaminants. Lauren was a NSF GRFP Honorable Mention in 2016.
