Mystic Aquarium’s “Women in Science Day” event not only highlighted the Aquarium’s female researchers and animal trainers, but women of achievement from the local science community.
Green Chemistry & Green Engineering scientists staffed a station with information and hands-on activities about their work. Dr Mellor presented a demo on safer design chemicals, Megan O’Connor showed her work related to electronics recycling and Cammie Faucey talked about hand-held water filters which can be used in developing countries.
The event was visited by over 3500 people by 2PM.
