Wenbo is a PhD student in Prof. Plata’s lab. He has interests in material science and their applications in environmental field. His current research is on carbon nanotubes growth mechanism. Through gas compound analysis and isotope ratio analysis techniques, Wenbo is trying to uncover the mystery in the gas phase reactions during carbon nanotubes growth process, such as the role of oxygen in carbon nanotubes synthesis. He believes that high carbon nanotubes growth efficiency and reduction in environmentally harmful byproducts will be completed simultaneously if the black box in the gas phase interaction is fully illuminated.
