Fjodor is currently a first year PhD student at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Born in St- Petersburg, Russia, he moved to Boston, MA in high school and subsequently studied biochemistry and economics at Brandeis University. While at Brandeis, Fjodor conducted research on protein expression in ALS- affected mice. After completing the B.S. degree, Fjodor studied public health and worked on risk assessment research projects in Cyprus. Fjodor returned to Boston to work as a toxicologist and a risk assessor in environmental consulting before coming to Yale in 2013. Currently, Fjodor is working with Paul Anastas to elucidate safer chemical design guidelines.
