Brian is a first year Ph.D student in Prof. Desiree Plata’s lab in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Born in Plattsburgh, NY, he attended college in his hometown at SUNY Plattsburgh before pursuing a Masters at Duke University. His current research at Yale involves the application and development of novel analytical techniques to elucidate the impacts of fossil fuel energy sources on the environment. He focuses on hydrophobic organic compounds in natural water systems impacted by natural gas extraction and is also exploring the emissions generated from oil sands refinement.
