Holly Rudel, a Ph.D. candidate in the Zimmerman Labs and Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering, defended her PhD thesis today. Her project, “Informing Design of Sustainable Sorbents for Drinking Water Treatment: Faceted Nanohematite for Oxoanion Removal,” discussed chitosan-based water treatments and her many other projects from recruitment to teaching to environmental justice. With her successful defense, Holly has earned her PhD, and goes on to a fellowship on the California Council on Science and Technology Policy. Congratulations Dr. Rudel!
