Jonathan Mellor is a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Julie Zimmerman’s lab.  He is currently researching the linkages between climate change, drinking water quality and child health in developing countries.  A Virginia native, he took a complex systems approach for his doctoral research at the University of Virginia to better understand how household drinking water becomes contaminated and thereby causes diarrhea in South African children.  Prior to this, he was a Master’s International student at Michigan Technological University and Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda where he studied household water usage and interventions to reduce diarrhea.
