B.S. in Chemistry, Hamilton College, 2007

Leanne received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and education from Hamilton College in 2007.  As the recipient of the George Watson’s College Teaching Fellowship, she taught for a year at George Watson’s College in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Upon returning home, Leanne took a position at St. James School in Maryland where she taught Chemistry and AP Chemistry. She is currently a third year graduate student in Environmental Engineering conducting research under Dr. Julie Zimmerman. Leanne’s research is in the field of environmental nanotechnology and focuses on the potential implications of carbon nanotubes. More specifically, her current project explores the green design of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) for decreased negative environmental and human health impact.
