The workshop is designed to meet the following specific goals:
• Provide the necessary foundation for establishing an on-going initiative on Green Chemistry into country’s educational system.
• Assist in building a Green Chemistry educational capacity in India by ‘training the trainers’.
• Focus on real- world applications of Green Chemistry and how to build Industry-University- Government partnerships.
• Identify areas where scientific collaborations between US and Indian scientists can take place on Green Chemistry for sustainability ranging from fundamental research to real-world application.
• Building programmes for development, dissemination and utilization of various renewable energy based technologies- Solar cells, Wind power, Biofuels, Biomass combustion.
