Currently a first year graduate student, Amanda is working under Dr. Julie Zimmerman and Dr. Menachem Elimelech. Originally from southwestern Connecticut, Amanda attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where she majored in physics with an emphasis in math. She studied solar powered nano-membrane filters in Mali before spending a year in Ghana to study community participatory Bio-Sand filters under a Fulbright Fellowship. She returned to the U.S., and completed her Masters degree in Environmental Engineering at Stanford University.
